As the countries across the word seem to cautiously lock down in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus, and because of the governmental and private sectors formulate their responses and regulations , it has become clear that the associated economic impacts will be significant and affect all sectors of the economy, including construction industry around the word especially in the development countries , Iraq as an example due to the slowdown in the manufacture and supply of all products, including construction materials produced and reduction in the site labour which cannot “work from home” as an office worker might.

The question now , what more might be done in this context to overcome this now-day and future problem?

1- Keep good communication between the supply chain

Contractors - Subcontractors - Professional team members - Suppliers

2- Decided which building materials are the more affected , and what is the substitute or alternative one be used.

3- Seek new supplying sources.

4- Study what can be changed or moved in the original design specifications without affect the design concept of the project.

5- Decide early which is better for the contractor an owner put projects on hold or to procure them in a different way.

6- The governmental sectors must stand strongly to support the small firms and companies to approach this risk in relation to construction projects.
